Larch Hill is one of the National Scout Centres of Scouting Ireland. It is situated on the edge of the Dublin/Wicklow mountains in a picturesque valley between Kilmashogue and Tibradden mountains 11 kilometers from the centre of Dublin and 22km from Dublin airport. We have an 88 acre (35 hectares) campsite, a 26 bed lodge, a 56 bed hostel and 2 tented villages surrounded by natural amenities to enhance your scouting experience.

This event is taking place on the June bank holiday weekend May 30th to June 2nd 2014. For just €55 per Cub Scout they will get to meet and have fun with other groups entering on this great Adventure. The fee for each Cub Scout attending includes all campsite fees and programme activities provided during the camp together with special camp souvenirs.

Larch Hill has 11 fields suitable for camping, giving a total of 32 hectares of camp grounds. If required, Larch Hill can also supply your group with tentage and other camping gear.
Larch Hills water is supplied from two deep water wells, this water is tested and analysed on an annual basis. The water is 100% natural with no chemicals or chlorine added. Water taps can be found in most camping fields.
There is plenty of fire wood available on site from the campsite woodpile. Alter fires are also available and there are many small campfire circles dotted along the perimeter of the top forestry.
The Toilet and Shower Block is located in the main car park, the recently built shower block consists of male and female showers for scouts and separate showers for leaders. The toilets and showers are of the up most cleanliness and are cleaned regularly on a daily basis. The Toilet and Shower block is wheelchair accessible.
The Wet Weather Shelter is a 50ft by 40ft Barn like building located near the main reception and car park area. This building allows you to run a wet weather programme on those not so sunny days.
Larch Hill Tented Villages are under construction. Pine village holds up to 22 people and Oak village upto 18. All tents are kitted out with bunk beds and mattresses and a fully equipped kitchen and dining tent. All tents equipped with special protective flooring. The Main House is situated near the main reception area in Larch Hill. It sleeps up to 56 people and consists of a large catering kitchen and dining area, leaders room, reading room,large conference hall, 4 person, 8 person and 12 person dormitories, male and female toilet and shower facilities and a large private garden area with flag pole. All beds have pillows and mattress covers. All you need to bring your sleeping bags. All kitchen utensils and equipment are provided. The kitchen consists of a large fridge and freezer, large gas cooker, two large ovens, toaster, microwave and more. The Main hostel is block booked and exclusively yours for the weekend.
The Centenary Lodge is situated in Larch Hills Training field to the rear of the main reception and carpark area. It opened in November 2007. It is a partly solar heated timber build chalet and sleeps up to 26 people. All bedrooms are dormitory style and the Lodge consists of four 4 person bedrooms and a large 10 person bedroom. All beds have pillows and mattress covers, All you need to bring is your own sleeping bags. A male, female, disabled toilet and showers alike are available in the lodge; it is also equipped with a modern kitchen which is attached to the main dining area. All kitchen utensils and equipment are provided. The kitchen consists of a large fridge and freezer, large gas cooker, oven, toaster, microwave and more. The Centenary Lodge is block booked and exclusively yours for the weekend.

From the M50 motorway to Larch Hill br> Leave the M50 motorway at Junction 12 and follow signs for Ballyboden. At first roundabout take 2nd exit, at next roundabout take 2nd exit, at next roundabout take 3rd exit drive up Ballyboden Road past the Eastern Health Board Health Centre and continue up this road past Edmondstown Golf Club. You will pass under the motorway bridge and come to The Merry Ploughboy Pub on your left. About 200 metres further on there is a fork in the road take the left turn, down the hill. At the foot of the dip you will come to a junction with Mutton Lane , carefully cross the junction onto Mutton Lane. Drive along Mutton Lane, ignoring side roads, and you will arrive at the main gates in a cul-de-sac.
From the City Centre br> From the GPO travel up O' Connell Street into D'olier Street and onto Dame Street. Travel up Dame Street to Christchurch Cathedral and turn left onto Patrick's Street. Continue up Patrick's Street into Clanbrassil Street heading for Harold's X Bridge. Over the bridge you will pass Our Lady's Hospice on your right and come to a fork in the road. Take the left fork heading up to Kenilworth Cross and straight through to Terenure Village. Head straight on at Terenure heading to Rathfarnham. In Rathfarnham take a right turn at the junction at Yellow House Pub, this will bring you onto Willbrook Road. Head straight up this road until you come to a roundabout at Grange Road. Go straight through the roundabout and past the Eastern Health Board Health Centre and continue up this road past Edmondstown Golf Club to Rockbrook.
